Frays in the ties that bind us
"It’s the day of reckoning: My first day off antibiotics. After eight weeks of illness from Lyme disease, I’m hoping the meds have done their job.
But although I’ve been sick, I have much to be thankful for: health insurance that requires only a $15 co-pay for office visits; paid sick leave; the ability to telework; supportive bosses; and a spouse who has kept our household running. Things could be so much different, and the fact that life is different for so many people weighs heavily upon me."
