From New York: "Legislation directing the county to draw up plans to fight the Lyme Disease epidemic plaguing Suffolk County was unanimously approved by the County Legislature’s Public Works and Transportation Committee yesterday and will go to the full Legislature for a vote next Tuesday at its meeting in Riverhead."
"Under Introductory Resolution 1810-13,sponsored by S. C. Leg. Jay. H. Schneiderman, the yearly Suffolk County Vector Control plan would include a section on the steps being taken to reduce the incidence of tick-borne illnesses. This section shall include the work to be done, the methods to be employed and methodologies to determine the effectiveness of the program."
