The majority of analyzed bird species are able to infect larval ticks with Borrelia.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Important research here, and similar to what Prof Kurtenbach had proposed was happening:

" the diversity and evolution of LB spirochetes is driven mainly by the host."
In other words, borrelia bacteria are so diverse, and adaptable, the strain you were infected with could perhaps appear later as something with a different genotype.
