Here's another news story about the National Institutes of Health study where "clean, lab-raised" ticks were fed on patients who were previously treated for Lyme disease. Note: Out of 23 patients, two were positive, meaning the ticks picked up the bacteria directly from these "treated" patients. (And remember, only a few ticks were tested.)
As previously demonstrated in mice and monkeys, it's obvious that Lyme bacteria may survive antibiotic treatment, in some, if not many, cases. So, ENOUGH of the arguing back and forth! Funding to study better treatment options is needed NOW to help those suffering with ongoing infection.
