This study by Dr Alan McDonald, which once more, proves the inadequacy
of the Lyme ELISA, is not so surprising in that we have known indirect
testing is a problem for decades. What is important, is the potential
role of borrelia biofilms in protecting the bacteria from antibodies,
and the implication that using biofilm agents prior to testing, may help
to increase sensitivity of presently available tests.
