Abstract
Historically, Bartonella spp. have been associated with febrile illness (Oroya fever, trench fever, and cat scratch disease), endocarditis (numerous Bartonella spp.), and vasoproliferative lesions (Bartonella bacilliformis, Bartonella quintana, Bartonella henselae, and Bartonella vinsonii subsp. berkhoffii), occurring most often but not exclusively in immunocompromised patients.
Recently, bloodstream infections with various Bartonella spp. have been documented in nonimmunocompromised individuals in association with a spectrum of cardiovascular, neurologic, and rheumatologic symptoms. As documented in this family, symptoms for which the medical implications remain unclear can occur in multiple family members infected with one or more Bartonella spp. Serial serologic and molecular microbiological findings supported exposure to or infection with Bartonella spp. in all seven family members.
Either antibiotics failed to eliminate bacteremic infection, resulted in partial resolution of symptoms, or potentially reinfection occurred during the 19-month study period. There is a substantial need for clinical research to clarify the extent to which Bartonella spp. bacteremia induces nonspecific cardiovascular, neurologic, or rheumatologic symptoms, for ongoing improvement in the sensitivity and specificity of diagnostic testing, and clarification as to if, when, and how to treat patients with documented Bartonella spp. bacteremia.

State Assembly and Senate just cut allocated funding for Lyme disease
in the new budget. Senator Sue Serino debated on the floor the cuts, and
inquired of the Chair of the Senate Health Committee the reason for the
loss of $1 million in funding for Lyme and TBD. She stated it's
critical importance.
As per Jill Auerbach, Lyme advocate in NYS:
"With over 98,000 in NYS contracting Lyme disease in 2017 with the highest percentage being children ages 5-14 and a cost burden that year of over $1 billion dollars, it is unconscionable!"

France Lyme : la course des héros à Lyon 2019
pour la 2e année consécutive, la section Rhône participera à la Course Des Héros (CDH) de Lyon.
La CDH, kézako ? La course des héros est un événement caritatif et sportif qui réunit des associations caritatives (les héros).
Le défi sportif se déroule en 3 parcours, 2 km marche, 6 km marche ou course, 10 km course.
Cette année, la course des 10 km est divisée en 2, 10 km sans chrono, 10 km avec chrono.
Le défi caritatif est relevé par les ambassadeurs qui marchent ou courent.
Ils doivent récolter minimum 250 € pour pouvoir aider leur association de leur choix et décrocher leur dossard et participer ainsi à la CDH.
Cet argent est récolté par eux mais pas pour eux.
L'argent récupéré par les ambassadeurs est pour France Lyme, pour le bon fonctionnement de l'association, pour que des kfé lyme puissent avoir lieu, pour aider toujours plus de malades, pour aider les médecins qui nous soignent et se battent à nos côtés, etc.
