you don't put implants into someone who has an untreated chronic infection

t's a basic rule of thumb in medicine that you don't put implants into someone who has an untreated chronic infection. I know that. But when you live with Lyme & cos everyday, you stop thinking in these stark terms. One friend described having to have a delicate surgery to have a titanium implant removed and it was covered with slime--like biofilms. Theoretically, the metal may attract infection to grow on it. Many articles are published on this that can be found on pubmed.gov but the articles focus on other infections---not Lyme borreliosis or bartonella.
