The
Lyme disease-causing bacterium is called Borrelia burgdorferi. But it's
likely you contracted other nasties from the tick bite* at the same
time.
Bartonella and Babesia are
common, but you may have been infected with other Borellia species
(e.g. Tick-Borne Relapsing Fever) and Rickettsia species (the spotted
fever group). And there's more. Only a few "co-infections" are
officially recognised in Australia.
Overlapping
symptoms can make diagnosis difficult. Be sure to ask your practitioner
