Rare Tick-Born Virus Confirmed in Two Putnam County Residents
"BREWSTER, N.Y. – The Putnam County Department of Health has announced that two Putnam residents have been positively diagnosed with Powassan (POW), a tick-born virus. Both residents are recovering at home."
"Since 2001 there have been 16 known cases of POW in New York State, five of which have been Putnam County residents, according to Putnam County Department of Health."
