This is how the OspA component of borrelia down regulates the cells of the immune system which would normally attack the other parts of the borrelia organism, such as the flagella...I need to do more reading on this but it could explain how important OspA is and why a vaccine containing OspA could be pretty dangerous. Any thoughts folks?
