Dear Dr. Topol,

My research and the research of Dr. Judith Miklossy identifies a SUBSET of Alzheimer's which is linked to

Neuroborreliosis by virtue of: Culture of borrelia spirochetes from Fresh autopsy Alzheimer's brains, and by

DNA probe studies demonstrating that the Alzheimer's plaques in this subset group selectively Light Up

with In Situ DNA hybridization with borrelia specific Molecular Beacons, and that Granulo-Vacuolar bodies

inside of Dying neurons in this Alzheimer subset also selectively Light up with Molecular beacons specific for

Borrelia Flagellin B DNA..

An Infection subset of Alzheimer's recapitulates the Syphilis subset for Dementia of the General paresis type.

General paresis brains show Round Plaques which are exactly the same in profile as the Alzheimer's Plaques.

If newer concepts of microbial pathogenesis are heuristic models to be heeded, {such as the Helicobacter

pylori and Gastric Ulcers and Gastric MALT lymphomas, and Gastric Adenocarcinomas) let us direct further

study for renaissance of spirochetal infection initiated human dementias.

Yours ,

Alan B. MacDonald, MD, FCAP, FASCP
