Moreover, Public Health England tells GPs that chronic Lyme does not exist - which is nonsense and contradicted by study after study showing the Lyme bacteria is wily, persistent and able to evade the immune system and survive PHE's recommended short course antibiotic treatment. Lyme can cause meningitis, encephalitis, permanent disabling fatigue, confusion, memory loss, severe chronic pain in joints and muscles, psychiatric symptoms, heart problems, autistic-like symptoms and regression in children, blindness and a host of other symptoms, and it can kill . It is time the health authorities in this country wake up to the reality of chronic Lyme!
There will also be a protest in Manchester on Friday 16 May 2014, and protests all over the world during this weekend .
