Most people think all ticks are the same.
They’re not.
And here in the Midwest, that difference matters more than you think.
Some ticks can impact your energy, your hormones, your immune system…
and certain ones, like the Lone Star tick, can trigger something called Alpha-gal.
Alpha-gal is a reaction where your body suddenly cannot tolerate red meat after a tick bite.
Yes, really.
And many people have no idea that’s what caused it.
The tricky part is you may not notice symptoms right away, which is why awareness matters.
Not fear.
Just being informed so you can protect yourself and your family.
Simple habits go a long way:
🌿 Use natural tick repellent
👖 Cover skin in tall grass and wooded areas
🔍 Check yourself, your kids, and your pets
🚿 Shower after being outdoors
🐾 Don’t forget your animals
We are heading into peak tick season in the Midwest, so this is your reminder to stay aware.
Save this so you have it when you need it, and share it with someone you care about who spends time outdoors. Be sure to check out my other posts to get some tick safe guides and tips on protecting yourself naturally.
Leave me a comment if you’ve seen any ticks yet this year? We’ve been seeing them since February here in Iowa!
