Dr. Richard Horowitz : Congressman Gibson talked about his new Lyme bill that is presently before the House, that will establish funds for research for Lyme and associated tick-borne disorders.

This picture of myself with Congressman Chris Gibson was taken during the Light on Lyme event in Rosendale, N.Y. on May 4th. Congressman Gibson talked about his new Lyme bill that is presently before the House, that will establish funds for research for Lyme and associated tick-borne disorders. The bill will create a committee with a diversity of scientific perspectives at the table, which will address among other issues: a comprehensive review of the literature, and relevant and diverse emerging scientific areas that will help advance clinical practice. Lyme organizations will have a voice at the table, and it is important for Lyme Advocacy organizations and thought leaders to come together to support this bill. Congressman Gibson also sent his representative Steve Bulger to speak at the Greene County Lyme forum that took place on May 5th, at Greenville High School the next day. I was there with Dr Holly Ahern, Chris Fisk from the Lyme Action Network, and Dr Ronald Stram. I spoke on the Lyme-MSIDS model and how it could be effectively used for persistent illness in Lyme, and its applicability to other diseases. The auditorium was packed, and when I asked people in the audience to raise their hands if they had Lyme, the majority raised their hands. I didn't know the epidemic had spread so significantly north of the Hudson Valley. The stories that I heard from patients of being misdiagnosed and still suffering was an eye opening experience, and although other Congressional leaders were invited, Congressman's Gibson's representative was the only one who attended.
Please support Congressman Gibson in his fight to help our country with Lyme and associated tick-borne diseases. There will be a fund raiser for him next Wednesday at the
Halpern residence, 550 Albany Post Road, New Paltz, N.Y. Come and meet the Congressman and find out why we need more people like him serving our country.

LA MALADIE DE LYME QUAND LES TIQUES ATTAQUENT !

LE MONDE EN FACE

LA MALADIE DE LYME
QUAND LES TIQUES ATTAQUENT !

Documentaire

This time last year I was in and out of hospital with breathing difficulties, left sided paralysis, and major problems with my speech, also a hundred other problems. I had told my husband that he had to let me go because I was desperately ill and in so much pain. He kept me going and about seven months ago I staggered through the doors of the Well One clinic which proved to be the turning point of my life. Treatment and support from the clinic saw me, after 22 years of infection, get stronger and stronger. Here is a link to a photo taken of me on Saturday. I never thought that I would see the day again.http://www.jchphotography.co.uk/p704705719/h2B5BCD48#h37144938

    2 years of treatment today!

    2 years of treatment today!
2 years ago I was clinically and medically diagnosed with Chronic Neurological Lyme Disease, Babesia, Bartonella and Mycoplasma. Treatment has been very hard on me, nothing easy about any of it. I am grateful for the support I have, especially from my loving wife Paula, you see me at my worse and I know it is hard for you to watch me when deteriorating, crying in pain, etc.
Struggling to get out of bed with aching joints, sore soles of feet, pain in muscles and bones, skin on fire, headache, dizzy, twitching, eye pressure/floaters, sensitive to light and sound, chest pains, sore glands, electric shocks throughout my body, air hunger, metallic tastes, lack of energy, swollen veins, etc…this is a “good day”
On a “bad day” symptoms become unbearable. I don’t get out of bed and just wait for the day to pass, hoping to wake up to a “good day”
A “good day” does not mean no pain or symptoms, it just means it’s not as bad as it gets.
For me there is no escape, off switch or cure. There is only hope that one day I will make it to remission.
If I was correctly diagnosed 16 years ago (in 1998 when infected), ONE bottle of antibiotics could have prevented this from progressing into Chronic Neuro Lyme, which now requires long term treatment and ongoing maintenance for life with no guarantees.

    great words from Dr. Jernigan

    great words from Dr. Jernigan
The month of May is Lyme Awareness month. I just want to
say bravo to all the brave souls who face opposition on many fronts, who often must direct their own health care, who often must fake feeling good everyday just so that friends and family can feel better about their situation.
Lyme disease is not an incurable illness! I am blessed to have gone through this illness and finally put it behind me without antibiotics. I have great admiration for the thousands I have been honored to be able to strive to help undo what has been done, those who were often told it was "all in their head" when there actually was so much that was really wrong.
I pray you all find the quality of life you each seek. You each are an example of bravery and I salute you!
Through the years, thousands of people have come to my clinic, the Hansa Center for Optimum Health, thousands more have read my books "Beating Lyme Disease", and yet very few ever knew the health adversities I have personally experienced in my life. The following link is a bit of my story. I hope it gives you the courage to keep pursuing optimum health! http://bit.ly/1qanCkY
    Blessings to you all,
    Dr. Jernigan
