Ticks and tick-borne dis­eases have been a major pub­lic health issue al­most world­wide. Al­though our knowl­edge has been grow­ing rapid­ly, the prob­lems are far from being solved. IJSTD (for­mer­ly IPS) is a bi­en­ni­al sci­en­tif­ic meet­ing that deals with ticks and tick-borne dis­eases. It brings to­geth­er re­searchers and also prac­ti­tion­ers from many coun­tries work­ing in var­i­ous dis­ci­plines (zo­ol­o­gy, mi­cro­bi­ol­o­gy, mol­e­c­u­lar bi­ol­o­gy, im­munol­o­gy, human med­i­cine, vet­eri­nary med­i­cine etc.) to have a live­ly ex­change on pre­vail­ing is­sues in a pleas­ant at­mos­phere.
