....recently published study about lone star ticks and Lyme disease.

From Georgia Lyme Disease Association: "Here's an interview with University of North Florida's Dr. Kerry Clark on his recently published study about lone star ticks and Lyme disease. Not only did Dr. Clark find that lone star ticks and the southern patients who removed them tested positive for the same Lyme bacteria known to cause the disease in the northeastern USA (Borrelia burgdorferi sensu stricto), Dr. Clark also reported finding two species of Lyme disease bacteria previously unknown to infect humans - Borrelia americana and Borrelia andersonii - in patients."
